Tamar Korn

Tamar Korn is a New York-based jazz and free jazz vocalist and musician known for her unique blend of classical training and improvisational jazz. She grew up surrounded by music, with a father who was a professional classical violinist and a strong foundation in piano and theatrical disciplines from an early age. Inspired by jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Korn developed a distinctive vocal style marked by a fluid soprano voice and an adventurous approach to melody and rhythm. Over the years, she has earned acclaim for her ability to reinterpret classic jazz standards and push the boundaries of contemporary jazz with her expressive, free-form performances.

In recent years, Tamar Korn has collaborated with Brooklyn singer-songwriter Kyle Morgan, releasing the album *Darkening Green* in 2025 on Jalopy Records. This collection of acoustic duets features elegantly spare arrangements and includes re-imaginings of songs by Leonard Cohen, the Carter Family, and Gillian Welch, alongside original compositions, capturing themes of impermanence and renewal with a timeless yet fresh sound. Korn’s collaborations showcase her versatile voice and her skill at blending jazz, Americana, and folk influences, maintaining a poetic and intimate musical atmosphere that resonates strongly with listeners.
