MC Bin Laden, whose real name is Jefferson Cristian dos Santos Lima, is a Brazilian funk singer who rose to prominence in the mid-2010s. Born in 1993 in Vila Progresso, a poor neighborhood in São Paulo, he gained national attention with his 2015 hit "Tá Tranquilo, Tá Favorável." The song's accompanying dance became a viral sensation on social media, even being adopted by soccer star Neymar to celebrate goals.
Before his breakthrough, MC Bin Laden had been active in São Paulo's funk scene for several years, releasing tracks like "Bololo Haha" and "Passinho do Faraó." His stage name, which he has since changed to MC Binn, initially caused controversy due to its reference to the infamous terrorist. Despite this, he maintained that his aim was to be a "good Bin Laden" in contrast to the "bad" one. In recent years, he has continued to release music and even participated in the 24th season of Brazil's Big Brother reality show in 2024.
