Churen Li

Churen Li is a versatile pianist, composer, and educator whose musical career has taken her across the globe and into exciting new territories of classical and contemporary music. Emerging as the youngest graduate from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore, she later added a master’s in music from Yale and another in philosophy from Cambridge to her impressive résumé. Li’s dynamic portfolio includes performing both solo and with orchestras, teaching music theory at her alma mater, and curating artistic research—all while composing original music that blends Western classical traditions with jazz, pop, and traditional Chinese influences.

Churen’s debut album "Ephemory" reflects her boundary-pushing approach, incorporating cinematic, jazzy, and anime-inspired elements into her soundscape. She is passionate about making classical music relevant to new generations and regularly collaborates on innovative concerts that fuse classical performance with other art forms, such as theatre and poetry. Whether she’s playing Rachmaninov in a concert hall or blending genres for a unique musical experience, Churen Li’s artistry is rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and a love for musical storytelling.
