Maurice Aymard
Maurice Aymard is a Barcelona-based DJ, producer, and label owner known for his eclectic taste and deep influence from both European and Latin American scenes. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, and later relocating to Barcelona, Aymard’s life has been dedicated to music—starting from a childhood surrounded by vinyl at his family’s record stores to founding influential labels like Galaktika Records and El Palmas Music. His sound is a fresh blend of deep house and techno, often infused with live instruments and rich collaborations, as showcased on his debut album “Between Stars”.
Beyond his work in the studio, Aymard is a seasoned performer, playing regularly in clubs from Barcelona to São Paulo, and has hosted his own radio show and club nights. He has a passion for musical archaeology too, spearheading projects to preserve and celebrate Venezuelan popular music, all while designing and running his own vintage clothing stores. Aymard’s recent releases, like “Into the Night,” “Vamo a Camina,” and “Under the Sky Meets Madrid Vol I,” reflect his versatile approach and ongoing commitment to crossing musical and cultural borders.
