Thierry Crommen

Thierry Crommen is a Belgian self-taught harmonica player born in 1958, known for his versatility and expressive style on both chromatic harmonica and blues harp. He first gained recognition in the 1980s as a brilliant instrumentalist and sought-after accompanist, collaborating with a wide range of artists such as Michel Fugain, Sanseverino, Renan Luce, and Johan Verminnen, among others. Crommen’s ability to navigate different musical genres has made him a key figure on the Belgian music scene. He also formed a successful quartet in 2006, blending his distinct harmonica sound with guitar, piano, and bass, and released several well-received albums on the Homerecords label.

Beyond his quartet, Thierry Crommen has explored various musical projects including children's songs, improvised music, and funk-rock collaborations. He has performed internationally across Europe, Japan, and the USA, notably with guitar master Jacques Stotzem. Crommen co-authored a harmonica method with JJ Milteau and Greg Szlapczinski, demonstrating his commitment not only to performance but also to education. His discography includes significant releases like "La Nouvelle Donne," "Different Ways," "Diversions," and "Versions originales," reflecting his ongoing evolution and passion for the instrument.
