Ziba Shirazi is an Iranian-American singer, songwriter, poet, and storyteller known as a pioneering female voice in Iranian music. She left Iran for the U.S. in 1985 and has since written, produced, and promoted seven albums on her own, blending Persian melodies with world music and jazz. Often called the “Voice of Women” in the Iranian community, her work shines with feminist themes, love, compassion, and universal human stories. Beyond music, Ziba’s storytelling projects explore the Iranian immigrant experience, touching hearts across cultural divides with her lyrical performances.
Her recent releases include albums like *Benden sonrasında* (2025), *The Cold Shoulder* (2019), and *Cracks* (2018). Ziba also created Story & Song, a performance combining live music and storytelling with video, which highlights immigrant narratives and was based on her master’s thesis. She staged her musical production *Spring Love* at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and other venues, continuing to engage audiences through a rich blend of poetry, song, and narrative that honors both personal and collective histories.
