Eddie Allen is a Brooklyn-based trumpeter, composer, and arranger who's made his mark on the New York jazz scene with his versatile chops, blowing everything from big band jazz to R&B, Latin, Broadway, and beyond. Hailing from Milwaukee, he honed his skills at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and William Paterson University before diving into collaborations with legends like Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Steve Turre, and Muhal Richard Abrams, plus stints in Broadway pits for shows like *Ain’t Misbehavin’* and *Jelly’s Last Jam*.
Keeping the fire alive, Eddie leads his own outfits—a quartet, quintet, Latin/Brazilian project, and big band—while dropping fresh releases like the 2026 single **Daybreak**, 2025's **Maurice** (feat. Steve Turre), the **Dreams About Colours** EP, and **Colours About Dreams (Demo)**, blending his signature playful, husky-toned trumpet with inventive swing. He's even penned an instructional book, *An Introduction to the Bb Concert Blues*, cementing his spot as a go-to clinician and bandleader.
