Naoya Ogura is a Japanese guitarist and composer born in 1992 in Kobe who has made his mark both as a member of the alternative rock band Mass of the Fermenting Dregs and as a solo jazz artist. He joined Mass of the Fermenting Dregs in 2010 as a support guitarist before becoming an official band member, where he handles guitar arrangements and backing vocals alongside bandmates Natsuko Miyamoto (vocals and bass) and Isao Yoshino (drums). Beyond the band, Ogura is an accomplished jazz musician who studied at Doshisha University in Osaka and later pursued further jazz education in the United States starting in 2020. He leads the Naoya Ogura Jazz Orchestra and has released jazz albums including "Colors of a Journey," showcasing his versatility across multiple musical genres.
Known for his energetic performances and melodic sensibilities, Ogura continues to be an active figure in Japan's music scene, contributing significantly to Mass of the Fermenting Dregs' distinctive guitar-driven sound while also exploring his passion for jazz through his solo work and orchestra projects.
