Jeffries Fan Club

Jeffries Fan Club was a Southern California-based ska band that blended strong elements of ska, punk, rock, and jazz to create their distinct sound. Formed in the mid-1990s, the band was part of the third wave ska revival, garnering a following through energetic live performances and engaging melodies. The group consisted of members Mike Dziurgot (vocals), Chris Colonnier (trombone), Derek Gibbs (bass), Justin Ferreira (drums), Sonnie Johnston (guitar), and Steve Tucker (trumpet), and they were known for their irreverent humor and catchy brass riffs, which helped them stand out in the bustling scene of ska and punk acts.

While Jeffries Fan Club experienced modest commercial success, they were beloved in the underground music community and managed to release a number of records that resonated with fans. Among their releases, albums like "Nothing To Prove" showcased their maturity and command over their sound, offering anthems that connected with a disillusioned youth. Their retrospective compilation, "JFC Sucks... The Early Years," gave listeners insight into the band's genesis and progression through previously unreleased tracks and early recordings. Their commitment to their genre and message was perhaps best encapsulated in their album "Changing the Nation," which not only served as a call-to-action lyrically but also demonstrated their ability to evolve musically. Although the band ultimately disbanded in the early 2000s, their music continues to inspire new generations of ska and punk enthusiasts.
