Matching Outfits

Matching Outfits is an indie pop band born from the creative ferment of Berlin’s DIY music scene. The group’s story begins with Linnea Mårtensson, who grew up on a farm in Sweden playing saxophone and piano before moving to Berlin. There, Linnea met American musician Rachel Glassberg and UK-born bassist Leah Corper, and the trio formed Matching Outfits, blending wistful melodies with quirky, emotionally raw lyrics that capture life’s ups and downs with humor and heart. Their debut cassette *Band Made Out Of Sand* was released in 2022, catching the attention of indie fans and labels alike.

Their 2025 single “No Whiskey,” produced by indie legend Emperor X, crystallizes a period of heartbreak and change, featuring on their first releases for Bar/None Records. The band has garnered praise for a sound described as reminiscent of “a Super 8 film from the family attic,” mixing dulcet harmonies with moments of discord and shout-along energy. They are set to make their U.S. debut at New Colossus in New York and SXSW in Austin, showcasing a fresh twist on heartfelt indie pop.
