November is a Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm in 1969 by Christer Stålbrandt, Richard Rolf, and Björn Inge. They are often regarded as one of Sweden's first hard rock/heavy metal bands. Known for their fast-paced performances and numerous guitar solos, November's music was influenced by American acid rock and bands like Uriah Heep, Cream, and Led Zeppelin. Their style was heavy and blues-based. The band was notable for using Swedish lyrics, which was unusual at the time, and they gained popularity both in Sweden and in England. November released three studio albums: *En ny tid är här...* (1970), *2:a November* (1971), and *6:e November* (1972). After disbanding in 1972, they reunited for occasional performances, including a notable reunion in 2007.
November's legacy is significant within Swedish rock history, often associated with the broader "progg" movement due to their emergence during that era, though they never espoused political themes in their music. The band members went on to pursue other musical projects after November disbanded. Christer Stålbrandt formed Saga, Björn Inge joined Energy, and Richard Rolf became part of Bash and later Nature. Despite their relatively short active period, November remains a beloved figure in Swedish rock history.
