Irvine Arditti

Irvine Arditti is a British violinist best known as the founding member of the Arditti Quartet, a renowned ensemble celebrated for its dedication to contemporary classical music. Since forming the quartet in 1974 while still a student at the Royal Academy of Music, Arditti has played a major role in shaping the modern string quartet repertoire. Under his leadership, the Arditti Quartet has premiered and recorded works by many of the world's leading avant-garde composers, including Iannis Xenakis, György Ligeti, Brian Ferneyhough, and Helmut Lachenmann.
