In recent years, Zhao has collaborated with pipa master Gao Hong on projects like "Prelude to the Divine Realm - Pipa and Guqin," where they revisit traditional Chinese pieces with their own creative flair. This collaboration showcases Zhao's skill in both preserving classical Chinese music and pushing its boundaries through improvisation and adaptation.
