Anil Shahi is a renowned fusion guitarist, music director, and singer from Nepal. Born in Bhurung Khel, Kathmandu, he began playing the guitar at the age of 12, which marked the beginning of his musical journey. Shahi's musical style blends classical and contemporary elements, reflecting his diverse musical background. He has composed over 300 modern Nepali songs, including 12 movie songs, and has released several fusion albums. Anil Shahi has performed in numerous concerts across the globe, including in the UK, USA, Australia, India, Taiwan, and Malaysia. He was awarded "Best Fusion Guitar" in Taiwan in 2006. Shahi is also known for his philanthropic efforts, often using his music to support social causes.
Recently, Anil Shahi was honored with the '10th Father Eugene L Watrin Memorial Cultural Award' at St Xavier's College in Nepal, recognizing his contributions to preserving classical music. Throughout his 25-year career, Shahi has emphasized the importance of blending traditional and modern styles, promoting Nepal's rich musical heritage both domestically and internationally. His recent releases include "Feri Timro Tyo Aakhama," "Rato Sadi," "Timro Sparsha," "Maha Maya Mantra (String Traditions)," "Bhairabi," "Bhairavi-Fusion," and "Maya Mantra," showcasing his versatility and dedication to fusion music.
