JANNABI

JANNABI is a South Korean indie rock band known for their nostalgic melodies and storytelling lyrics that evoke a sense of both whimsy and melancholy. Formed in 2012, the band originally consisted of members Choi Jung-hoon (vocals, guitar), Kim Do-hyung (guitar), and Yoo Young-hyun (bass), later joined by drummer Jang Kyung-joon and keyboardist Yoon Kyul. Their unique sound, which draws influence from retro pop and classic rock, quickly garnered them a loyal following in the South Korean music scene.

The band's name, JANNABI, which means "monkey" in Korean, reflects their playful and dynamic nature. They have since made their mark with a number of hits and contributions to soundtracks for popular Korean dramas and films. Among their more recent works are the cinematic "Midnight music" from the celebration of Nobrain's 25th anniversary, the haunting "Love Spoiler" for "Drama Stage 2021," and tracks for soundtracks such as "로맨스는 별책부록 OST Part.1." Their ability to traverse different musical styles while maintaining their distinctive sound is evident in releases like "JANNABI’s small pieces ll: GRIPPIN’THEGREEN" and "The Land of Fantasy." Their creative output continues to captivate fans and cement JANNABI's place in the landscape of contemporary Korean music.
