The Relaxins

**The Relaxins** are a Japanese rock band formed in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, influenced by 1970s punk, rock ’n’ roll, blues, and homegrown acts like THE BLUE HEARTS and RC Succession. Since launching in 2016, they’ve evolved from raw three-chord punk to a tighter, twin-vocal sound with garage-rock energy, releasing two albums before a lineup shift in 2020. After a pandemic hiatus, the current quartet—vocalist/guitarist Hayuru, guitarist Yusuke, bassist Tomosue, and drummer Oriba—relocated to Tokyo in 2022 and dropped experimental EPs *lamp* and *gang* in 2024, teasing a genre-defying album in the works.

Their recent tracks like *叫び出したい*, *SHELTER IN THE RAIN*, and *All the Young Sparks* reflect this restless evolution, blending scrappy guitar hooks with moodier, rhythm-driven textures. Live shows and tours, including their 2019 *MORNING CALL TOUR*, remain central to their DIY ethos.
