Wet Leg is an emerging indie rock duo that emerged from the bucolic surroundings of the Isle of Wight, England. Formed in 2019, the band consists of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, who met while studying and performing in other musical projects. The two found common ground with their wry humor and love for quirky, catchy melodies, leading to the formation of Wet Leg. The duo exploded onto the indie scene with their debut single "Chaise Longue" in 2021, an instantly infectious track that paired deadpan vocals with sharp-witted lyrics, underlain by a deceptively simple and addictive guitar riff.
Wet Leg's subsequent releases have continued to solidify their unique blend of post-punk, indie-pop, and sharp lyricism, capturing the attention of both listeners and critics. Their self-titled debut album "Wet Leg," released in 2022, includes tracks that range from the hypnotically rhythmic "Wet Dream" to the introspective "Angelica," showcasing the duo's versatility and depth of songwriting. They have been celebrated for their ability to address themes of anxiety and the absurdity of modern life with a mix of irreverence and poignancy. Their energetic live performances, bolstered by additional touring members, have been pivotal in translating their studio creations into a compelling stage presence that resonates with their growing fanbase.
