Udumbal

Udumbal is an ambient black metal band from Mogilev, Belarus, formed in 1998 by Voist Angiras. The band is known for its unique blend of ambient and black metal, with lyrics written in Sanskrit, Sumerian, and Ancient Russian. Udumbal has released two notable full-length albums: "Sarcis" in 1998 and "Ahi Budhnya" in 1999. The band's name is inspired by Vedic traditions, where Udumbal is described as a four-eyed messenger of the god of death, Yama, responsible for guiding souls to the afterlife.

Udumbal's music often explores themes related to ancient cultures and mythologies, reflecting the band's interest in historical and mystical subjects. Voist Angiras is the primary member, handling all aspects of the band's music. Udumbal's style is characterized by its atmospheric and introspective soundscapes, which set it apart within the ambient black metal genre. Despite its early formation, the band remains active, contributing to the rich tapestry of Belarusian metal music.
