Safri Duo is a Danish electronic percussion duo composed of Uffe Savery (born April 5, 1966) and Morten Friis (born August 21, 1968). Initially classically trained musicians, the duo met at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music and formed Safri Duo in 1990. They achieved significant success in the realm of classical music before making a name for themselves in popular music with their breakthrough single "Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)" in 2001, which became one of the most popular dance anthems across the globe and a defining track of early 2000s dance music.
