Thierry Huillet

Thierry Huillet is a renowned French pianist and composer, born on July 21, 1965, in Toulouse. He is celebrated for his achievements in classical and contemporary classical music. Huillet won first prize at the Conservatoire de Paris and later at the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 1987. He has also been a laureate of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition and the International Music Competition of Japan. As a composer, Huillet's work includes concertos, chamber music, and numerous transcriptions, often performed by himself and his wife, violinist Clara Cernat. His compositions are known for their lyrical quality, and he has released several albums featuring his own works, such as "Romanian Rhapsodies" and "Buenos Aires."

Huillet regularly performs with Clara Cernat in a duo, and they have collaborated on many recordings, including arrangements of classical music for violin and piano. He is also a respected educator, teaching at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Toulouse and frequently serving as a jury member in international piano competitions. His recent releases reflect his diverse musical interests, ranging from solo piano recitals to chamber music and orchestral works.
