Sheavy

Sheavy is a Canadian band that has been a driving force in the stoner rock genre since their formation in the early 1990s. Hailing from St. John's, Newfoundland, the group is known for their Sabbath-esque riffs, psychedelic influences, and the distinctive, Ozzy Osbourne-like vocals of their frontman Steve Hennessey. The band solidified its presence in the heavy rock scene with the distinctive blend of doom metal and classic '70s rock that is both homage and evolution of the sounds pioneered by bands like Black Sabbath.

One of their most acclaimed albums, "The Electric Sleep," released in 1998, is a testament to Sheavy's ability to craft dense, riff-driven rock with a sense of melody and atmosphere. The release was followed by "Celestial Hi-Fi" in 2000, showcasing the band's matured songwriting and penchant for epic soundscapes, further expanding their reach within the stoner rock community. The band continued their momentum with "Republic?" in 2005, delivering more of the heavy, fuzz-laden grooves that fans had come to expect. Throughout their career, Sheavy has consistently impressed audiences with their tight musicianship and dedication to the heavy rock sound, securing their place as stalwarts of the genre.
