Animals in Exile

Animals In Exile is a Denver-based band known for blending neo-psychedelic rock with garage grit, indie edge, stoner fuzz, and dreamy shoegaze to create a unique sound. The project originated in 2015 as the solo vision of songwriter Redding Bacon, who drew inspiration from diverse influences, including 2000s DJ culture, Indian sitar drones, Velvet Underground, and 70s African psych rock. In 2025, the band solidified as a group with Redding joining forces with bassist Colby Rogers, guitarist Jim McTurnan, and drummer Eric Marshall, each bringing personal stories of resilience and artistic passion. Their music crafts poetic lyrics that explore the surreal, existential, and everyday themes with both intellectual depth and emotional resonance.

Animals In Exile’s sound is a textured mix of electric guitars, analog synths, hypnotic beats, and melodic hooks layered into psychedelic rock landscapes. Their releases include albums and singles like *Let's Go!* (2025), *I Can Fly* (2023), *Western Gothic* (2019), and *The Somnambulists* (2016).
