Brigitte Meyer

Brigitte Meyer is a renowned Swiss pianist born in Biel on October 1, 1944. She began her musical journey at just six years old at the Conservatory of Biel and made her orchestral debut at the age of eleven. After furthering her studies in Lausanne and Vienna, she gained recognition for her exceptional talent, earning the Bösendorfer Prize and reaching the finals of the prestigious Clara Haskil Competition in 1975.

Meyer has built a diverse repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary works, showcasing her skills in major concert halls worldwide, such as the Musikverein in Vienna and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. In addition to her concert performances, she is passionate about chamber music and has collaborated with notable artists across genres. As an educator, she has been teaching piano at the Haute école de musique in Lausanne since the early 1990s, where she shares her wealth of knowledge with the next generation of musicians. Her recordings, particularly those featuring works by Mozart and Mendelssohn, have received critical acclaim, cementing her status as a significant figure in classical music.
