Iyer’s Filter Coffee is a garage and indie rock band from Bangalore, India, that’s been carving out a space for itself in the local music scene since forming in late 2017. The group’s members—Rushil Mishra (guitar/vocals), Sachin Iyer (drums), Pushkar Ravindra (guitar/vocals), and Dennis Dey (bass/vocals)—met and bonded through the music club at BITS Pilani before reuniting in Bangalore, where they started jamming and eventually launched the band with the goal of rocking the city’s pub circuit. Their sound pulls inspiration from indie rock classics like The Strokes, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and after their debut track “Soma” caught attention in 2018, they cemented their reputation with the EP *coldturkey* (2019) and their debut full-length album *Is This How You Do It* (2020).
With a shared love for iconic desert island disc picks—ranging from Led Zeppelin to Daft Punk—the band brings a laid-back vibe to their music, blending garage rock grit with the sort of melodic hooks that stick in your head. Their energetic live shows and memorable songwriting have made them favorites among fans of India’s indie underground. Recent releases include singles like “Deytime” and “Noize,” along with their well-received debut album and EP.
