Ultranoire

**Ultranoire** is a Hungarian-German electro-noir duo based in Frankfurt am Main, consisting of Josef Stapel (singer/songwriter) and Szilard Kun (musician, keyboardist). The band formed in 2012 and has been active since 2014. Their sound blends electro-pop and synth-noir elements with unique sound samplers, textures, and effects, drawing comparisons to acts like Depeche Mode and De/Vision. The duo's music explores melancholic themes through carefully crafted piano-like arrangements paired with Stapel's distinctive vocals.

Since their formation, Ultranoire has released several albums including *Disclosure* (2015), *Intronaut* (2017), and the recent single *Circles* (2025). Their upcoming album *Subtraum* is scheduled for release in Spring 2026. The band's approach to electro-noir maintains a consistent, recognizable sound while experimenting with various musical influences and production techniques, establishing them as notable contributors to the contemporary synthpop and electronic music scene.
