Ebrahim Soul'o

Ebrahim Soul'O is an alternative hip-hop soul artist from Kampala, Uganda. Born Balunywa Ibrahim, he began his musical journey through performance poetry, which led him to songwriting. His music is characterized as "self-help," focusing on themes of resilience and social awareness to inspire and uplift his audience. Soul'O has released several albums, including "Conjolted" (2019), "Akatebankano" (2020), and his latest concept album, "Shaka" (2023). He has gained recognition through competitions like the Pearl of Africa Star Search and the MTN HipHop Cypher, where he showcased his talent and unique sound.

Soul'O's creative process is driven by emotion and inspiration, often starting with melodies or words that evolve into full songs. He has performed at notable events such as Afropalooza, Nyege Nyege, and the Blankets & Wine Festival, contributing to Uganda's growing alternative hip-hop scene. His musical influences include artists like the late U.S. hip-hop legend Shaka Zulu, reflecting in his most recent album.
