The Last Shadow Puppets

The Last Shadow Puppets is an English supergroup formed in 2007 by Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane, formerly of The Rascals. Accompanied by producer and drummer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, and later joined by string arranger Owen Pallett, the band is known for their eclectic sound that harks back to the orchestral pop of the 1960s, infused with the swagger and energy of modern rock. Their debut album, "The Age Of The Understatement," released in 2008, received widespread acclaim for its ambitious soundscapes and baroque pop sensibilities, earning the band a Mercury Prize nomination.

After an extended hiatus, during which Turner and Kane pursued other projects, The Last Shadow Puppets returned in 2016 with their sophomore album, "Everything You've Come To Expect." This release continued the band's love affair with lush string arrangements and introspective songwriting, but with a more pronounced rock and roll undercurrent. As with their debut, this album was well-received and showcased a progression in the band's sound and lyrical maturity. Their EP "The Dream Synopsis," which followed later that same year, featured reworked versions of songs from their second album along with a selection of cover versions, demonstrating their wide-ranging musical influences and versatility as a group.
