Abbott & Costello were an American duo made up of comedians and actors William "Bud" Abbott and Lou Costello. They initially gained popularity as a burlesque act in the 1930s. Their paths crossed in 1935 when they met in a theater in New York. In their routines, Abbott often took the role of the "straight man," while Costello played the "foolish" and comedic half. One of their most famous routines, 'Who's on First?,' showcases their brilliant comedic chemistry and would go on to become one of their signature acts.
