Melanie Thornton

Melanie Thornton was an American-born singer best known as the powerful voice behind the Eurodance duo La Bouche, which rose to international fame in the 1990s with hits like “Be My Lover” and “Sweet Dreams.” Born in South Carolina, she brought a soulful, gospel-infused vocal style that helped define the high-energy sound of La Bouche. After parting ways with the group, Melanie pursued a solo career in Europe, where she released the successful album "Ready to Fly."

One of her most beloved solo tracks is “Wonderful Dream (Holidays Are Coming),” which became a staple of Coca-Cola's holiday marketing campaigns and remains a festive classic in Germany and other parts of Europe. Tragically, Melanie’s life was cut short in 2001 when she died in a plane crash in Switzerland. Despite her untimely passing, her music continues to resonate with fans and is celebrated every holiday season.
