Chris Wiesendanger

Chris Wiesendanger is a Swiss jazz pianist and composer, born on October 11, 1965, in Zurich, Switzerland. He began playing piano at a young age and received ten years of classical piano training. Wiesendanger has been involved in numerous musical projects, often exploring the intersection of composition and improvisation. He has performed with notable musicians like Eddie Harris, Ray Anderson, and Lester Bowie at venues such as the Zürcher Jazzclub Bazillus and international festivals like the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Wiesendanger also studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where he collaborated with musicians from the New York jazz scene. He teaches at the Musikhochschule Luzern and the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.
