Carlos Paravís was a Uruguayan physician and folk singer born in Minas, Uruguay, in 1968. He was the son of Santiago Chalar, a renowned musician, and Adela Martínez Graña. Paravís followed in his father's footsteps by dedicating his musical career to preserving the memory and songs of Santiago Chalar. He released several albums, including "Entre Cuerdas y Tu Madera" (1996), "¡Ahora sí!" (2016), and "Homenaje a Santiago Chalar. 80 años" (2019). Before his passing on May 21, 2024, due to esophageal cancer, Paravís participated in the opening ceremony of the 37th edition of the Festival Minas y Abril.

His work not only honored his father's legacy but also contributed to the rich cultural heritage of Uruguay.
