Renato da Rocinha

Renato da Rocinha, born Renato Baptista dos Santos on September 21, 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, is a renowned Brazilian samba singer and songwriter. He grew up in the Rocinha community, where he was exposed to samba from a young age, often attending samba gatherings with his father. Renato began his career in radio, working as an announcer and audio operator for a community radio station. He eventually became the official voice of the Acadêmicos da Rocinha samba school. In 2010, he released his debut CD, "Qualquer Lugar," and continued to build his career as an independent artist, releasing albums like "Moleque Bom" in 2015 and "Renato da Rocinha 10 Anos (Ao Vivo)" in 2019, which celebrated his decade-long career with special guest appearances.
