Stiff Little Fingers

Stiff Little Fingers are a band hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 1977 at the height of the Troubles, a period of conflict in the region. The band's raw energy and political lyrics quickly distinguished them from their punk rock peers, cementing their status as influential pioneers of the genre. Founded by lead singer and guitarist Jake Burns, along with bassist Ali McMordie, guitarist Henry Cluney, and drummer Brian Faloon, Stiff Little Fingers' early works are often fueled by the band members' experiences and the volatile political atmosphere of their homeland.

Their debut album, "Inflammable Material," was released in 1979 and featured the iconic track "Alternative Ulster," which has since become an anthem for disaffected youth. Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes but retained its fierce independent spirit and commitment to socially conscious themes. Known for their electrifying live performances, Stiff Little Fingers have amassed a dedicated fan base around the world. They continue to release music and tour, with albums like "No Going Back" (2014) ensuring that their sound remains relevant and their message as poignant as ever. The reissue of "No Going Back" in 2017, alongside their most recent live release "Best Served Loud: Live at Barrowland," marks a significant chapter in the band's storied career, as they celebrate decades of unapologetic rock and roll rebellion.
