Iain Grandage

Iain Grandage is an acclaimed Australian composer, conductor, and music director known for his innovative work across theatre, opera, dance, and concert music. He’s particularly celebrated for blending classical traditions with contemporary and Indigenous Australian elements. One of his standout projects is the opera "The Rabbits," a collaboration with author John Marsden, illustrator Shaun Tan, and singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke. This powerful work, based on the award-winning picture book, focuses on themes of colonization and environmental destruction, and earned widespread critical praise.
