Little Nemo

Little Nemo is a French coldwave band that emerged in the late 1980s as part of the 'Touching Pop' movement, a defining scene in the French Riviera that combined the dark aesthetics of post-punk with the more melodic elements of pop music. Named after the comic strip character by Winsor McCay, the group has been characterized by its ethereal guitar work, haunting synth melodies, and introspective lyrical content. Little Nemo's lineup most notably includes Olivier Champeau and Vincent Legallo, whose creative partnership has shaped the band's distinct sound.

The band initially gained recognition with their debut album "Sounds in the Attic" (1989), which became a cult classic in the French underground music scene. Their subsequent releases through the late '80s and early '90s, including "Private Life," "Turquoise Fields," and "The World Is Flat," displayed a maturation of their style and helped them to garner a wider international audience. After a hiatus, Little Nemo returned with "Out of the Blue," which helped to introduce their music to a new generation of listeners. Their latest projects, such as "Past and Future,” "Hérouville Sessions," and "Tangentes Sessions," mark a thoughtful retrospection and exploration of their artistic journey, offering both new material and revisitations of their classic repertoire, thus solidifying Little Nemo's enduring influence within the post-punk and coldwave genres.
