Nightingale is a Swedish progressive rock and metal band led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Dan Swanö. Formed in the mid-1990s as a one-man project, Nightingale initially leaned into gothic rock sounds before evolving into a blend of melodic hard rock and progressive metal with a classic rock touch. Over the years, the lineup expanded to include Dan’s brother Dag Swanö, enhancing the band’s dynamic live performances and rich musical textures. Known for their melodic hooks, emotional lyrics, and tight musicianship, Nightingale has built a dedicated following with albums like “Retribution,” “White Darkness,” and the fan-favorite “Nightfall Overture.” Despite Swanö’s involvement in numerous metal projects, Nightingale remains one of his most personal and melodic musical outlets.
