Vamsi Kalakuntla is a musician from Hyderabad, India, currently based in Dallas, Texas. He has a deep passion for music, which began in his childhood, influenced by Indian film music and radio. Vamsi was trained in Carnatic music and later worked with Indian music composer Ajay Patnaik, enhancing his songwriting and composing skills. After moving to the U.S., he gained experience working at an NPR radio station and collaborated with co-songwriter and producer Jonathan Camacho, further refining his craft in songwriting, composition, singing, and DJing.
Vamsi's music is unique for blending Western influences, such as Drake and The Weeknd, with Indian music influences like AR Rahman and Ilayaraja. His notable releases include "Feelings," a Telugu lofi pop single that explores themes of love, heartbreak, and hope, and "My Love," which was an instant hit. Vamsi aims to introduce Telugu music to global audiences and collaborate with artists across multiple genres. He is also a member of The Grammys and aspires to win a Grammy Award, contributing to the recognition of Telugu pop and independent music worldwide.
