Gente De Zona is a Cuban reggaeton duo formed by Alexander Delgado in 2000, and joined by Randy Malcom in 2008. Combining reggaeton rhythms with more traditional forms of Cuban music, Gente De Zona (which translates to "People from the Neighborhood") has spearheaded a musical movement known as "Cubaton" – a fusion genre that has gained international success and popularity within Latin music spheres. With their engaging blend of sassy and infectious beats, they became widely renowned for their collaborations, including the globally chart-topping hit "Bailando" with Enrique Iglesias in 2014.
Over the years, Gente De Zona has continued to forge its identity with an impressive discography that resonates with themes of locality, rhythm, and Cuban pride. Their recent releases such as "Por Ahí," "Somos Latinos," and the powerful political anthem "Patria y Vida" display not only their versatility across different sounds and genres but also their broader embrace of complex social and cultural themes. With an ever-growing fan base, their music undeniably captures the vibrancy and spirit of their Cuban roots while appealing to a worldwide audience that finds common ground in their pulsating rhythms and melodies.
