Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid

The Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (Madrid Community Orchestra), or ORCAM, is a relatively young orchestra, founded in 1987 by the Community of Madrid. Despite its youth, it has quickly become one of Spain's leading orchestras, known for its vibrant performances and commitment to contemporary music, alongside the standard orchestral repertoire. They've championed the works of Spanish composers, both established and emerging, as evidenced by their extensive discography. The orchestra has also collaborated with a number of internationally renowned conductors and soloists, further solidifying its reputation on the world stage.

ORCAM's recordings reflect their diverse programming, ranging from Romantic-era symphonies to avant-garde compositions. They've dedicated significant effort to recording and promoting the works of Spanish composers, making their music accessible to a wider audience. Beyond their concert seasons and recordings, the orchestra is also involved in educational initiatives, aiming to foster a love of classical music within the community.
