Charly Antolini is a renowned Swiss jazz drummer born on May 24, 1937, in Zürich. He began his musical journey playing the traditional Swiss Basler drum before moving to Paris in 1956, where he collaborated with notable figures like Sidney Bechet and Bill Coleman. Antolini later became a part of the Tremble Kids alongside Oscar Klein and Werner Keller. In the early 1960s, he settled in Stuttgart, Germany, and played with the SWR Big Band under Erwin Lehn's direction, alongside musicians such as Peter Witte and Horst Jankowski. He also performed with prominent big bands led by Kurt Edelhagen, Peter Herbolzheimer, and Max Greger.
Throughout his career, Antolini has been prolific, forming his own band, "Charly Antolini's Jazz Power," in 1976. He has toured extensively with legendary musicians like Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton, and has recorded numerous albums, including some with British saxophonist Dick Morrissey.
