Bohdana Pivnenko

Bohdana Pivnenko is a renowned Ukrainian violinist, often referred to as the "Ukrainian Paganini in a skirt." Born on January 27, 1977, in Kharkiv, Pivnenko is the daughter of the celebrated artist Ivan Marchuk and art critic Alla Pivnenko. She began her musical journey at the Kharkiv Music Decade before studying at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music School and later at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy. Pivnenko has performed as a soloist with leading Ukrainian orchestras and has presented Ukrainian music globally. She is also a key member of the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata" and has worked on notable projects like the Anthology of Contemporary Ukrainian Music. Pivnenko is currently the head of the violin department at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine.

Pivnenko has been involved in various musical collaborations and has won several prestigious awards, including being a laureate of the International Competition of Interpreters-Instrumentalists in Chisinau and the Mykola Lysenko International Music Competition in Kyiv. Her contributions to music include performances and recordings of works by significant Ukrainian and international composers. She is also known for her work in supporting musically gifted children through the project "We are your children, Ukraine!" With her impressive musical career, Pivnenko continues to be celebrated for her talent and dedication to promoting Ukrainian music worldwide.
