Gregg Belisle- Chi

Gregg Belisle-Chi is a talented guitarist and composer renowned for his inventive approach to modern jazz and creative music. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts with further master’s studies in performance and composition, he has an eclectic background stretching from rock influences like Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana to complex jazz collaborations. Belisle-Chi is deeply connected to the music of saxophonist Tim Berne, having released albums interpreting Berne's compositions, including *Koi: Performing the Music of Tim Berne* and *Slow Crawl: Performing the Music of Tim Berne, Vol. 2*. He also performs in various ensembles such as Jim Knapp’s Scrape Orchestra and has worked alongside notable musicians including Bill Frisell and Tom Rainey.

Based in Brooklyn, Gregg’s music blends rock, jazz, and classical elements with an emphasis on nuanced composition and improvisation. His debut leader album *Tenebrae* showcases his ability to move between solo guitar and vocal duets, highlighting a thoughtful, sometimes ethereal sound.
