Valérie Tribord

**Valérie Tribord** is a talented singer-songwriter from Cayenne, French Guiana, born on July 9, 1971, who's been lighting up the Afro-Caribbean music scene for decades. She got her big break in 1986 singing "Eva" with Kassav' legend Patrick Saint-Éloi at a concert, which led to her fronting the iconic Guyanese band Blue Birds and backing local stars like Viviane Émigré and Joseph Mondésir. Heading to mainland France in 1989 for studies, she teamed up with her sister Marie-Paule as go-to backing vocalists, working with global heavyweights like Cesaria Evora (for 10 years of tours and albums), Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Bob Sinclar, and more, blending reggae, zouk, and African vibes from her Guyana roots.

These days, Valérie's dropping her own solo gems like "Hello Sunshine" (a sunny reggae track from 2021), "Mo Sò," and her recent album **Mon Voyage #2**, recorded across Paris, Abidjan, and Kinshasa, following up her live Guyana release—pure musical journeys full of soul and positivity. With her smooth, powerful voice shaped by reggae from home and Brazil's samba influences, she's all about spreading strong messages through her tunes.
