Esham

Esham is a pioneering artist in the world of underground hip-hop, known for his dark, experimental style that fuses elements of horrorcore, acid rap, and hardcore hip-hop. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, he began his career in the late 1980s and quickly gained attention for his gritty lyrics, unconventional production, and fearless approach to taboo subjects. His 1989 debut album, Boomin' Words from Hell, kicked off a prolific output that would help define Detroit’s underground rap sound.

Over the years, Esham has established himself as a major influence on many artists, especially within the Midwest rap scene. He co-founded the label Reel Life Productions and was also part of the group NATAS, a key fixture in Detroit’s horrorcore movement. Known for constantly evolving and pushing boundaries, Esham continues to release new music, with recent projects showcasing his signature mix of raw lyricism and genre-bending beats.
