Matthew Caws

Matthew Caws is the lead singer and guitarist of the indie rock band Nada Surf. Born in New York City in 1969, Caws formed Nada Surf in 1992 with bassist Daniel Lorca and drummer Ira Elliot. The band's debut album, "High/Low," was released in 1996 and featured the hit single "Popular." Nada Surf has since released seven more studio albums, including "Let Go" (2002), "The Weight Is a Gift" (2005), and "You Know Who You Are" (2010). Caws is known for his introspective lyrics and melodic songwriting, which have earned Nada Surf a loyal following among indie rock fans.
