Andreu Martínez is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer from Barcelona, born in 1978. He studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu and has developed a signature sound blending blues, soul, funk, and reggae, which he calls "bluepop." Martínez spent six months in New York to expand his musical horizons and has released albums under the names Andreu Martínez Project and Andreu Martínez Band. His 2010 album "Colors" marked a shift in his career, featuring mostly English-language vocals (with one track in Catalan) and showcasing his journey toward a more eclectic and accessible "bluepop" style.
Widely regarded as one of the most charismatic and versatile blues musicians on the Catalan scene, Martínez has also made an impact in Spain’s pop and indie pop markets. He remains an active and influential figure, known for his live performances and genre-blending recordings.
