TAKE THE REINS

Take The Reins is a Chicago-based alt-punk rock band known for their energetic and hard-hitting sound. Formed in 2011 by Matty Rebel and frontwoman Courtney Boyers, the band is made up of members from notable local acts like Mostly About Nothing and She Likes Todd, which contributes to their distinctive style. They made their debut in 2017 with the album *Addiction by Subtraction*, which features 12 tracks that blend punk energy with themes of addiction, despair, and defiance. Critics have described their sound as "an explosive mix of Joan Jett and The Pretenders," showcasing Boyers' powerful vocals and the band's fierce musicality. Since then, they've toured the Midwest extensively and released their sophomore album *I'm At Your Door* in 2022 on Flat Aht Records, continuing to grow their presence in the punk rock scene.
