**Sleepnet** is the shadowy electronic alias of Dutch producer Boris Smeets, better known as one-third of groundbreaking bass trio Noisia. Operating in the heavier, experimental corners of drum & bass and halftime, Sleepnet weaves intricate sound design with eerie atmospheres – think glitchy sci-fi soundtracks meets bone-rattling sub-bass. Since emerging around 2020, their releases on Noisia’s Vision Recordings (like the haunting *First Light* EP and the metallic clang of *Angel Blade*) have become cult favorites in forward-thinking bass circles. Sleepnet’s remixes for Sevdaliza, Imanu, and others showcase a knack for warping vocals into ghostly textures, while live sets often blur lines between DJing and live modular experimentation. Though mysterious in persona, their music speaks loudly in the underground – a futuristic spin on neurofunk that’s equally heady and headbang-worthy.
