Comanechi

Comanechi is a London-based noise rock duo that brought raw, chaotic energy to the 2000s garage-punk scene. Fronted by Japanese drummer/vocalist Akiko Matsuura (formerly of art-punk band Pre) and guitarist Simon Petrovitch, they became known for their primal live shows blending distorted riffs, primal drumming, and Matsuura’s fearless vocals. Their discography includes the confrontational 2009 debut album *Crime of Love* and 2016’s *You Owe Me Nothing but Love*, both delivering gritty feminist anthems and scuzzy hooks. While they’ve kept a lower profile in recent years, their unapologetic noise-punk spirit and cult following remain intact.
