Serkan Çağrı is a renowned Turkish clarinetist born in 1976 in Keşan, Edirne. He began playing the clarinet at the age of seven, influenced by his musician father. At just 13, he won the "Best Clarinet Player" award in a local contest. Serkan graduated from the Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory of Turkish Music and later earned his MA in Turkish Music at Halic University. He has been pursuing his PhD at Baku Music Academia. Known for his innovative approach to the clarinet, Serkan redesigned the pitch setting for the instrument, leading to the creation of the "Serkan Çağrı Model" clarinet by manufacturers like AMATI-DENAK and KLINGSON.
Serkan Çağrı has performed with numerous world-known musicians, including Sting, Joan Baez, and George Dalaras, among others. He has also been part of several musical ensembles and has released albums such as "My Breath" and "Ala." Additionally, he has been involved in television, presenting music programs on TRT. His work combines traditional techniques with modern musical expressions, making him a significant figure in contemporary Turkish music.
